All students deserve to feel supported on their journey to finding the right college.

I like to think my career in college admissions started as a Brown University student tour guide. Sharing favorite spots on the Brown campus, joking with prospective students, and calming nervous parents came easily. Upon graduation, I started my career in advertising and spent over 20 years working in global marketing and brand management.

Along the way, I also served on the boards of various professional organizations. Working at companies like Pepsi, I learned how to find a product’s point of differentiation. I bring this unique business perspective to my work with students — creating their individual stories to help them stand out.

Prior to becoming an Independent College Consultant, I was actively involved in the Brown admissions process as an Alumni Interviewer. Through this experience, I developed a unique insight into the importance of a student matching their strengths with the right school. Having gone through the process twice with my own children (and one still to go), I understand firsthand the pressure — and pleasure — that comes with the college search.

“I struggled to come up with my Common App essay. I wasn’t sure what to write about. But after working with Kecia, I was able to share my story and it made writing all my supplemental essays so much easier.”
